Walking Tour

Downtown Benton

Historic Downtown Benton now offers a Walking Tour!

Benton enjoys one of the oldest and most authentic historic downtown locations in Arkansas. Our 189 year-old city continues to serve as a viable retail, dining, entertainment and business center. Visitors can shop from local farmers’ markets that inhabit the streets during spring and summer.  The holiday season produces an ice skating rink, visits with Santa, and festive Christmas lights decorating the historic Saline County Courthouse square.

Today, downtown Benton offers more than 50 historically significant buildings that are registered on the National Register of Historic Places. Downtown Benton also offers an assortment of specialty shops, furniture stores, museums, a prominent local stage theatre, gift shops, apparel boutiques and a multitude of service businesses. Come experience downtown Benton and get a glimpse of Arkansas history.

I was reading the information on the walking tour on Market Street and I’m pretty sure I found an error in the old White building where the Benton Courrier was printed. Would like to discuss, if you’re interested.
